For those of you ROM flasholics, you might want to install SafeStrap Recovery, which is much “safer” than Bootstrap as you can access Recovery of your phone from boot. This is good in case something goes wrong.
UPDATE, this is OLD please see updated Safestrap 3.0 here!!!
For example, if you flashed a new ROM but ends up in a boot-loop, you will have a tough time getting your phone working again. But with SafeStrap, you can easily boot into Recovery and restore your backed up ROMs.
Installation is pretty simple, just make sure to remove Bootstrap app if you’ve installed it and install the Safestrap apk file. Then run “install recovery”.
To access the new SafeStrap recovery, you can simply press the Menu button during boot when the SafeStrap boot splash comes on.
Here’s a video tutorial on how to install SafeStrap:

I got the same error message. I uninstalled and rebooted and reinstalled it and I get the same thing.
I can’t even find the safestrap.apk file to even download it. Any ideas where it’s located? Max said he was going to have it at the bottom of the page but not seeing it.
its at the bottom on his YOU TUBE video it took me a while to find that out. Hope that works for you
I do not see where to download it either… I do not see the link “at the bottom of the You Tube video.” Any help would be great. Thank you very much!
I figured it out. The link is not on this page but on the You Tube page.

Hey,
Good tutortorial video. I used your rooting method and followed that to the T. I then removed boootstrap and DL your safestrap. I did a complete internal and external backup of my sd card. Im happy with this so far. Great Work people!!!
Almost forgot to say how easy it is to get into recovery, very slick indeed
does adding this new rom have an affect on my free hotspot that i set up using max’s guide??? or rooting in general

I tried the above and couldn’t get ADB to appear in device manager. I have debugging enabled and installed the drivers. When I plug in my wifes phone ADB appear in device manager but for some reason my phone doesn’t.
