How to Install SafeStrap Recovery on Rooted Droid Bionic!

For those of you ROM flasholics, you might want to install SafeStrap Recovery, which is much “safer” than Bootstrap as you can access Recovery of your phone from boot.  This is good in case something goes wrong.

UPDATE, this is OLD please see updated Safestrap 3.0 here!!!

For example, if you flashed a new ROM but ends up in a boot-loop, you will have a tough time getting your phone working again.  But with SafeStrap, you can easily boot into Recovery and restore your backed up ROMs.

Installation is pretty simple, just make sure to remove Bootstrap app if you’ve installed it and install the Safestrap apk file.  Then run “install recovery”.

To access the new SafeStrap recovery, you can simply press the Menu button during boot when the SafeStrap boot splash comes on.

    i downloaded the safe strap says its downloaded but when I hit the open its says the application safestrap (process.comhashcode.bionicsafestrap)has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later. ?? What now I downloaded the safestrap to the internal memory and also then tried on sd card any ideas. Thanks

    I can’t even find the safestrap.apk file to even download it. Any ideas where it’s located? Max said he was going to have it at the bottom of the page but not seeing it.

    Ok im kinda new at this but when i tried to download safestrap on my pc it wont let me. what did u use to open the file and download it.

    I am new to this also, and when i downloaded it to my pc, i would not open it either… i extracted the files, thinking that would work, but when i transferred the file to my phone’s SD card, and i checked the ES File explorer, i did not see the Safe Strap file to install….

    please advise on how I can install it.

    Hey,
    Good tutortorial video. I used your rooting method and followed that to the T. I then removed boootstrap and DL your safestrap. I did a complete internal and external backup of my sd card. Im happy with this so far. Great Work people!!!

    Hello, sorry to bother everyone. i do not know if i am putting this in the right place, but i am desperate to find a stock droid bionic rom. i forgot to backup mine and now i cant take mine in for servicing at verizon. Please, if anyone can help me, i need to get the stock rom back on.

    I tried the above and couldn’t get ADB to appear in device manager. I have debugging enabled and installed the drivers. When I plug in my wifes phone ADB appear in device manager but for some reason my phone doesn’t.

    Any ideas?
