I like really this rom. One question; after you install this rom it looks like Bionic Bootstraper is installed. when I go to manage applications it won’t let me uninstall (I’d like to put safestrap back on)

  2. Alex says:

Great ROM. this is the first ROM I have installed on my rooted Bionic and I am very pleased.

  3. Sean says:

Also loving the ROM, but have you noticed that the gallery is gone? maybe I’m missing something, but do you know of a way to get that back or maybe a similar app if blur is an obstacle. I’m trying to get a picture out of an MMS and am having trouble saving it. any thoughts?

    Thanks,

Hey I followed this very carefully. Once i pick Eclipse v2.zip from the sd card it starts the installation then immediately says installation aborted. Any ideas what might be causing this? I tried liberty too, I’ve never been able to get a rom to install

    • DroidChrome says:

Is safe system enabled in safe strap? This was a problem for me when I first rooted my phone. When you first turn on the phone and it goes to safe strap go to the settings and turn safe system on. This website has a video on how to do this, I’m sure you can find or you could also google it. Once safe system is enabled you can install the ROM.

  5. Zac says:

If you have 5.9.901 or 5.9.902 your radio will not work with this rom. Essentially this means no calls, no text. Your phone freaks out and wont let you use any of the actual phone things.

    • Zac says:

But then again i may just be an idiot and don’t know what I’m doing

      • John says:

I’m ready to install this rom right now but I do have that latest update. I’m glad I read your comment before I waste my time. Can anyone confirm this is an issue or has anyone installed Eclipse with Moto’s latest system version 5.9.902 with everything fully functional? I hate Moto’s Rom and Blur so I’m itching to install Eclipse as my first Rom on my newly rooted Bionic.

        • justin says:

I have tried 4 rooms with no success on any with the radio working. The kang ICS from is the only working rom. I am not a huge fan of it. Better battery, but ugly green theme, very slow response, no video recording.

I’ll update if I get confirmation on any others working on .902

I’d stick with stock from for now. Run adw launcher and its much faster. Also I would install safestrap recovery and be sure to make a stock backup if u are going to test roms.

    • guy says:

And how do i figure out wat mine is?

  6. Jared says:

I am trying to flash the Eclipse ROM using Safestrap recovery. I have watched the video several times, but nothing address the issue I am currently having. It won’t enable safe mode. I get Can’t mount /emmc. I’m rooted and have Safestrape Recovery v1.08 What can I do?
    Thanks for the help!

  7. matt says:

i installed eclipse onto the phone just now and it starts up but i have no radio. i reinstalled the .893 and rooted the phone but i have no radio connection what so ever. any ideas? its really aggervating cuz it looks really cool and i wanna use it. i tried goin into airplane and reconnecting to see if i’d get 4g but nothing. wtf!?!?!

  8. matt says:

btw , i have the .893 installed right now with the eclipse v2.2

    • Deduct says:

Eclipse 2.2 will only run on .901 or .902 system versions. I recommend core DROID theme for eclipse. Its very slick and fast.

  9. Rich3rd says:

Finally, I was able to finish rooting my Motorola Droid BIONIC XT875 with Safestrap ENABLED of course. My first choice of ROM was Kin3tix which took my phone back from 5.9.902 system software to 5.8.894 and I wasn’t too find of Kin3tix. So I “flashed” Eclipse v2.2 as my next ROM which is wonderfully made and looking great. At booting, Eclipse’s multicolor flipping fading tiles are nice. It’s UI 3.0 screen is marvelous but the default apps seem to be a little bit like the iPhone’s app design. Otherwise, the ECLIPSE ROM is superb. Another reason I was curious to give it a try was that I noticed on the poll score that 90 users or voters tried it, so I did too and am glad.

I have 7 different home screens but my favorite is the Go Launcher EX.

KEEP UP THE REMARKABLE WORK DEVELOPERS!!!

Thank you. You’ve got my support. :-)

  11. Droidfan says:

I’ve installed the ROM on my phone, but now it’s stuck on the boot screen. It’s been trying to boot for the past hour. How do I get into the recovery and reinstall the stock ROM?

  12. Droidfan says:

I’m trying to reflash the stock operating system on my Droid Bionic, but it keeps failing at step six. I’m using the XT875 ROM for the VZW Bionic. I recently tried to flash my phone with the eclipse ROM, but it was caught in a boot loop. What do I do now?! Please help!

  13. guy says:

Yeah. My phone has no signal watsoever. Why? How do i figure out my system version wether it. 901 or not?
    :( it a good thing i had a backup.
Im not gonna install it till i get a way out of this

    • joe says:

press your menu softkey next to the home softkey on the bottom…press settings..scroll all the way down to “about phone” and about 4 down it should say:
      System version
5.9.905(or .901/.902/etc.) followed by a few more letter combos. the 5.9..90_ is your system version

      hope this helps

  14. Jeremy says:

I just flashed my Bionic. I had .905 on my phone but it’s now has dropped down to .893 and I have no signal. What do I need to do to fix this?

  15. g2dafx says:

Has anyone else have issues with connection to 3g or 4g lte. Looks like under the Motorola connection it won’t push.

  16. carl says:

Great guide!!! I followed the instructions, super easy. Thanks again. the only draw back is while I did not get any error messages, whenever I reboot I get a black screen….nothing….

  17. Joel says:

I’m trying to install this on my Razr and when I go to flash the Rom it Safeboot tells me unable to open zip file, any idea why its doing this?

  18. Dan Sears says:

It said succsessful install. But when it trys to boot up it get stuck at the part where it engraves eclipse over and over and doesnt get any further. Im using a XT912.

  19. Ernie Stephens says:

Thanks for your help with Eclipse ICS ROM. Unfortunately, I am now experiencing issues with running out of space on my internal SD, even with no apps installed on it. I now have less than 1gig available. Any ideas on how to fix this?
